Cal State San Bernardino psychology professor Connie McReynolds has toned down her claims about the benefits of neurofeedback, a therapeutic technique aimed at altering brain wave patterns to improve neurological problems.
Two years ago, when McReynolds had an open house of the Institute for Research, Assessment and Professional Development, which she directs, she said neurofeedback was endorsed by the American Pediatrics Association - it is not - and that it had been shown to be effective in improving myriad conditions ranging from attention deficit disorder to autism and cerebral palsy.
